From June, our church secretary

The Rettendon Village Show was a great success, bringing young and old together for a fun day.

It was a day showing a very high standard of vegetables, flowers, conserves and cookery items as well as a variety of crafts.

The children’s’ work showed a great variety of talent and effort.

We were very pleased to be part of this community day.  At the church tent  there were nostalgic photos and items emphasising the central part which All Saints Church has played both in the past and looking forward into the future of the Parish of Rettendon.

We at Battlesbridge share and are part of that Christian heritage.  Our display was of Jesus’ Parable of the Sower.’

The point of that is these days not many of us are familiar with the stories of the Bible.

In an attempt to rectify that at Battlesbridge Free Church are following a new course produced by the Bible Society.  It is called ‘Explore the Big Story’ and is on a collection of DVDs.  It is an eye-opener!  A useful basis of discussion for all who care to join us on the last Sunday of each month,

We look forward to our 176 Anniversary on July 28th.

We are sure we will have enjoyed the Concert given by the Community Choir on July 20th.

The Art Group displayed some of their work at the Show and invite any who would enjoy a bit of company to join them on Wednesday afternoons at 2 pm. foror a cuppa and a chat.
